Anybody with this problem?

I have a 01 PSD. Bought it last year with just over 100K on it. After a few months the check engine light would go on and there would be no throttle. The light would go off and the throttle would come back. You could pump the accellerator peddle a number of times before it would come back. This only occurred after taking your foot off the peddle completely. Then it started cutting out while driving and the check engine light would come on, but it would continue on down the road. If I happened to be stopped it would die. I could immediately start it up again though. I was told that a bad battery could cause these problems. Had them checked and sure enough, both were bad. However, after changing out both batteries, the engine cut out and would not keep going, would not immediatly start, but would start with a jump from another vehicle. Took it to a mechanic and found out it was the cam position sensor. Worked fine for a number of months but now the light comes on again and I have no accelerator. Does anyone have any clue what this could be? Im I looking at another cam position sensor? What are the codes that would tell me it is a cam position sensor? Is there a place I can go like NAPA that has a code reader I can use? Thanks in advance for your help.

sounds like it might be a TPS (throttle position sensor) since these are throttle by wire but I would check codes again to make sure.

Thats my sig, and has nothing to do with your question or a part of my answer.
Oh and it changes from time to time as I think of something else a little humorous to put in there

A cam sensor code wil show as a P0340 through P0344. I think the throttle position codes are P0220 and P0221.

Some of the big parts houses will still scan your truck for you. You'll just have to call around and see.
