I've really been thinking about the next truck and how I'd like to do the opposite of the stock restoration I'm doing on Earl. Anyway, something totally unusual would be to mount the Y-block transverse and go with front-wheel-drive. With all the torque and all, I figured having more rubber meet the road would help with performance on a drag strip. Here's an idea that might go along with the transverse Y-block and front wheel drive.

How about this I saw a truck at a local car show that had a eldorado setup for a rear end. Motor and all it was quite a sight it was definitely interesting
You should mount a hydralic pump in place of the tranny and use hydralic motors on each wheel for 4x4. If you set up the steering right you could turn each side independently like a bobcat skid loader.
