SMCT and idiot lights
Hey guys and gals, quick question for those of you who has SMCT tuners. When I tune my truck from the stock program to the HP program, the battery light on the dashboard light comes on or flickers on and off. When I remove the HP program and put the stock program back on, the light seems to stay off. Have any of you had this problem?

You may have an alternator not producing rated voltage. The tune alters all sorts of RPM parameters, and that may be exacerbating the alternator problem. Check the voltage across the batteries with the engine running - should be around 13.5-13.8. If it's significantly lower (<13) then it's time to look at the alternator.
