Installed 100hp diablo program and kwik filter yesterday just to see what the 100hp setting does..WHOA! very nice...But I noticed when under hard accel over 3000RPM the check engine light poped on no more than 800EGT...It went off after 30 secs..
So I jumped on it again and it came back for 30 sec...Is it something to do with 100HP setting or filter...I just went back down to 60hp will try it out later...
i got that on my mule to.. but not just on the 100hp setting... i think it is an exhaust backpressure issue as i was running stock exhaust at the time... problem was there was not a code stored so i never found out for sure what it was...
Its because your making over 24 lbs of boost. When the map sensor sees that much boost it triggers the light and starts to defuel the motor. It does this to protect the turbo. I seem to only get the light if i go way over 24 lbs or if its above 24 lbs for more than just an instant. I won't have it for long though, as i am installing my dieselsite.com boost relief valve tonight.

Yeah same problem no code....Did the new exaust make a differance..I am scheduled for exaust next week...
it may be an overboost, and it may not... i put the dual valve boost fooler on my mule, but i still got that light after i installed it... so... i put the walker btm on.. and i have not seen that light since... one other thing... with less restriction in the exhaust system i do not see the boost go as high as it used to... but i was told this happens when you open up the exhaust... i'm no expert on this but it fits... i see about 2-3 less psi of boost since i put on the walker btm... but the egts are about 100 degrees cooler and the truck has more power in the mid and upper rpms... i guess when you gain something on one end, you loose a little something on the other end... loose a few psi but gain more power and lower egts... i'll take that trade..!
tell me more about this boost relief and should I be worried about makin to much boost...
The overboost and overpressure codes are both common with chipped trucks. The SES light in those situations means the truck is defueling in an effort to control the pressures. It's annoyng and robs a little power, but it's nothing you need to worry about....completely normal.
