Speaking of doubling up on security, I would also add a fuel cut off so the vehicle would run for a period of time then stop.

Ratshot is not violence - just sort of stings. Would rather be hit with it than pepper spray. At least the rodents around here do not seem to mind it. But I knew I went too far for FTE - my apologies to the sensitive types who were upset at the idea.

Engraving with your driver's license sounds good, but would a cop from another state recognize it as a ID?

Not really a problem *****. We have some younger folks that read the forum (kids and grandkids) and it's a pretty family-friendly place as you know. You were not out of line, I just wanted to make sure we didn't go off somewhere bad.

So far in my life, I've never owned any vehicle that a thief would take a second look at. We have always left the car unlocked so they could look inside (without smashing a window) and see there was nothing to steal. As I get closer (veeeerrrrryyy slowly) to finishing Earl, I'm going to have to start thinking about the theft problem. Kind of ruins the fun, doesn't it?

When I stopped farming and moved to Califorina the hardest bad habit I had to break was leaving the keys in the truck - In the small town I lived before we always left the keys in it in case someone had to move it while we were gone.

For years my brother drove a ww2 jeep that did not even have a key - just a on/off switch and a starter button. But times do change.

Its pretty sad, the society we live in. There's people in this world who have no respect for someone elses property. I hope no one has to go through having their vehicles broken into or stolen. That's why having your truck insured for theft is real important. This is another reason I'm still looking for Mayberry so I can move there.

maybeery is a real town in NC. it was about an hour and half from my home. i don't remeber the real name of the town though.

my neighbor as i mentioned before with all the vechiles. he has presure sensitive plates in his yard so when he goes to sleep at night they are active and set the alarm off. he is a real paranoid guy. but considering the amount of people he sent to jail i can understand why. my mother has ADT security
