heres one, I have a 1978 4x4 extended cab F-150, but the supercabs
are built on the f-250 platform, and someone upgraded my truck to dana 60's front and rear and eight lugs, well i need a master cylinder to get my truck to pass Pennsylvania inspection, which vehicle should i get it for a f-150 4x4 or a f-250 4x4 or since it has a dana front and rear like a f-350 should i got that route???
I need something that will drop right in, without any junkyard runs for parts
I would use the master cyl for the 78 150. I recently used the same M.C. for my 73 F250 that I swapped a 3/4 ton 76 dual piston caliper front axle into with a 78 brake booster as well. After studying a number of mid to late 70's trucks I found the same M.C. used for diffrent applications, it should work well for you.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 30-Oct-02 AT 11:45 PM (EST)]On my 82 F-250 4x4 I found the GVWR determined which master cylinder my truck used. Mine is a 1-ton badged as a 3/4 ton. I found this out when I was going to replace my M/C. I had an unused rebuilt M/C from a 78 F-150 4x4 and it was different than mine.
My local Autozone showed me on his screen that the light duty 3/4 ton and the 1/2 tons were the same. In effect the 78 F-150 M/C would fit the light duty 82 F-250.
