need new heads, should i clean or replace the injectors while this is being done?
94 ford 5.8 140,000 miles life expectancy of injectors? they click kind of loud . is this normal? also change pressure regulator for injectors?
It would be a good idea to have the injectors cleaned while you have them off. Marren Motorsports has been doing mine for years and does a great job. They are at: http://www.injector.com
Not necessary to replace them unless Marren tells you that any of them are bad. 140K miles isn't alot. Mine have 235k and are just fine. A loud clicking is normal.
The pressure regulator shouldn't need to be replaced unless it's needed. Have you tested it? F.I. Pressure testers are relatively cheap. I think mine was around $40 at Pep Boys. Do this before disassembly, obviously.
Here's another source for injector testing. http://www.cruzinperformance.com/ We had some injectors cleaned and flow-tested for about $12 each.
