Bug Removal

Anyone have any secrets for removing bugs splattered on the front of their vehicles. I've tried numerous sprays and solutions but they seem to remove only about a third of the bugs.

Try a drier sheet get it wet and rub wherever you have bugs, it doesn't take much elbow grease and it will not hurt the paint.

I like to use a mild dish detergent and water solution. Spray on and let soak. Spray again and let soak then wash as usual. I use it mainly on chrome and the front plastic panels only. The solution does mildly strip wax.

I have had good results with Meguiar's Paint cleaner. It took very little effort to remove bugs and tar and other crud from my hood on my trucks and antique cars.

A guy at work told me about this trick. Lovebugs have got to be about the worst to get off. I had quuite a few that have been on for a couple weeks. needless to say I tried the dryer sheet trick and boy does it ever work good. It will not scratch chrome, paint, or the plastic trim.

On another note "Collinites" number 45 insulator wax is awesome and bugs barely stick to it once applied. Can be bought at fine auto paint supply houses or over the net.

When I used to fly small plane a lot, bug splatter was a big problem on leading edges of wings. Lemon pledge takes them off with ease.

Smooth peanut butter works well too, also good on tar removal.

Un-cut car wash shampoo [I like Megiuars Gold Class], or for the really heavy stuff Goo-Gone [it will remove wax].

Bug removal

Try a piece of 100% nylon cloth or a pair of your somebody(s) nylon pantyhose, works wonders.
Remember removing the legs and connecting parts first make them easier to handle. LOL
