94 B4000 erratic automatic

94 B4000 erratic automatic
I have a 94 B4000 4X4 automatic with 103000 miles on it. The last couple of days traveling on the highway (65 MPH) the truck started some erratic shifting fits (Pulsing Jerking) it’s like it did not know what to do, im not sure if it was slipping or trying to shift. I don’t think it was trying to shift. The next day around town it would do the same thing during normal in town driving. One thing the truck has always had is a Speedometer that would bobble up and down at around 65 MPH and up. But it has been doing this for almost 2 years. Any ideas what could cause this type of problem? I changed the Trans fluid and filter about a year ago.

I like dono's VSS idea. It's located atop the rear pumpkin & takes 30 min or less to change out.
It can cause the problems you've described, plus it can cause the cruise control to dop out too.
When last did you have a complete tranny fluid & filter change????
This too will make a difference in how the tranny shifts, but doesn't affect the speedo or cruise control.
