2005 Expedition Headlight Replacement
I just purchased a 05 Expedition XLT 2 weeks ago. I ordered new hi & low beam blue xenon bulbs, How do you get the headlights out to where you can replace the bulbs? My previous vehicle you could simply unscrew the bulbs w/o removing the headlight assembly, this seems like it will not be as easy as that. I popped the hood, took two of the top mounting screws out and it seems to still be held by something, I looked under the front bumper to see if i could locate any other fasteners and i didnt see anything (it WAS getting dark). Can someone tell me how to safely get the headlights out so I dont break them? Or is it more hassle than its worth? Thanks to anyone who replies in advance. Shaun, FL

There is a bolt in back of the light assy.
You access it by looking straight down the back. You will not have to put the wrench sideways, just straight down.
Does any of that make sense??
You do not have to remove it all the way. Just loosen it up. Pull the light out from the grill side first then straight out. There is a locator pin on the light assy that mates with a hole in the fender.
Welcome to FTE! And congrats on your new truck.

2005 expedition replacment
I do see that , its not flush, but down in a hole dead center, I did NOT fool with that particular bolt because i THOUGHt it might have something to do with the headlight alignment. Im not mechanically inclined so I was unsure, and thats where everything stalled. Being a brand new truck i really could do without screwing it up. Ill see how it goes for me and let you know, thank you SO MUCH for the quick reply. -Shaun
