Potentially Different Fuel Pump Question

OK, I've searched through the threads concerning fuel pump questions, and also crawled over a buddies 92 model (to discover the differences between the check valve fuel tank control and the reservoir control).

Here's my situation. I have one of the fuel transfer issues (my fuel return all dumps to the front tank, but the system will only draw off the rear tank).

Now to my real opportunity. My fuel pump does not shut off with the key. I have a toggle switch under my dash (it was a farm fix) to turn fuel pump on and off, so it doesn't (a) drain the battery and (b) pump the rear tank dry into the front (or on the ground).

Anyone have any ideas as to why my fuel pump isn't shutting off.

You have the reservoir selector valve, correct? Does the front tank work at all? Someone else had this problem, and replacing the in-tank pumps fixed the cross-flow problem. As for the pumps staying on, it could be a number of things. Is it still wired the same as it was from the factory with the exception of the switch? The fuel pump relay could be stuck on, but it would still turn off with the key. It would just stay on as long as the key was on, whether the engine was running or not. The EEC relay could also be stuck keeping power to the stuck on fuel pump relay, however, I'm not sure that the key would turn off the engine if this were the case. Another possibility is the ignition switch in the steering column is not working correctly, causing power to stay hot to the engine controls, but kill everything else. I don't know if any of these things are the problem, but maybe it'll give you some places to start looking at the least.

All wiring is stock. HOWEVER, the ignition switch was replaced. I believe that the issue arose before the ignition switch replacement, but I will check there. I have yet to pull the bed to check voltages and resistances at the tanks to determine the root of the crossflow issue. I have found some posts dealing with that topic, and will probably go after that first. With the installed toggle switch, the fuel pump power issue isn't as bothersome to me as the crossflow problem, as i get tired of syphoning gas from the front to the rear.
