Ok I have a 1960 F-100 with the 223 and was looking at the Offy intake.. But all there listing are only for "1957-59 Ford 223 OHV 6 Cylinder Triple Manifold"..
Well guy, we're used to you being confused by now.
I think you are correct, the 223 is the same from 1954 through 1960 as far as I can tell from my books. I have a separate listing for the 1961 through 1964 years.
Now one of you experts on the six cylinder engines come along here and give us the real scoop. Is the Offy catalog off(y)? ha ha - a little pun there ... very little apparently.
I seen that listing on it and wrote them about them.. Some person there wrote back saying it wouldnt clear my hood?? heck there at lest 2' of space from the carb to the hood.. ( Give or take a few inches )
If it is like my aluminum intake the flange that the carburetor mounts to is not flush to the runners like the steel setup. I bet there is a couple inches of rise where both carburetors mount. That is why it will not clear the hood. The carburetors are pretty short for those years if I remember correctly so changing that out is not much of an option. How tall is the air cleaner? Maybe put a hood scoop on that is offset to one side. I have seen a few of them that were a low profile that I thought looked good.
I went out and there 18" of space from the top of my aircleaner to the hood.. And it I went with tri intake than Id use a lower aircleaner.. the stock one is very tall
Darn, if you have 18" I have no idea why it will not work. I misread the original post I thought it said 2 inches not 2 feet. There has to be something or they would sell it for newer trucks also. You could always buy it and find out why it wont fit or that it will fit.
What hit me was when the sales person worte back saying it wouldnt fit becouse it wouldnt clear the hood.. Last time I check there more room under my 60 hood the the 59
the Offy manifolds actualy mount the carb lower to the intake than stock, so clearence isn't a problem at all, and the info they have is probaly for pass cars, the manifold should fit all 223's to 64, 61-64 heads have the same ports as earlier 223's, difference was the top casting where the valve cover bolts

Thank hill.. I think Offy needs some new techs/salesperson ..that dumd A$$ argued with me when I went to order it.. He keeps telling me it wont fit undermy hood... Even tho I keep telling him I could fit him underthere and his BF .. man he pissed me off....
