I bought my wife an 05 530i this year black on black, the car is just unbelievable the way it drives and handles, I hate to admidt it but once you drive one you really don't want to go back to an American car and I've had fords all my life. fit and finish is excellent and when you close the doors you don't here anything, I guess they don't call it the ultimate driving experience for nothing.

I have a 1992 325i 5-speed and love the car. It was purchased from a used car lot, without service records, for $12,000 in 1999 with 60,000 miles on it. It now has 130,000 so I have a good history with it. The car has not been trouble-free, but it is a lot of "bang for the buck". It has actually cost me much less per mile than the F-150.

Strong points: engine, manual transmission, rear axle, brakes, suspension, body/chassis structure.

Weak points: water pump, radiator, fuel pump, power window switches, radio, air conditioner, "Guibo" (rubber coupling instead of u-joint).

The car is much easier to work on than an Audi, Honda, or something like that because it has a straight six and rear wheel drive. Oil changes and tuneups are almost a pleasure to do. Dealer parts are expensive, but how many of us buy all of our Ford parts from Ford? Pepboys carries filters, sparkplugs, brake pads, etc. and there are excellent internet parts suppliers for everything else.
