Well if it helps you I have a 94 f150 with a dana 60 front 10.25 rear 5.13 gears detroit lockers front and rear, 39.5 inch boggers and coils all all four corners. I have a completely stock 5.0 and I have never had any power issues. to me its not motor size it is gearing and how you can control it. I take it to tellico all the time and I have done every trail multiple times and dont winch often at all. I had the stock ttb for about a month and got bouncing and slung my pinion gear in pieces through the front of the housing. I dont have any really issues with roll overs but I cut the roof and the back of the cab out and shortened the bed about 2 feet and dove tailed it so I dont have much weight up top and the flex of the coils helps. I run with plenty of people on 35s and such that go up trails with me such as lower 2 but no one seems to come out with a rear driveshaft but me and the other big guys. They can be done on 35s but not in an f150 I have been wheeling mine for about 2 years and started stock and it has only gotten the the best point now 30,000$ later in the build.

I know from personal experience that really large tires can be a hinderece.Take for example if one gets the sidewall sliced. If its not bad it probly can be plugged, but otherwise a tube is needed, this is youve used up the spares that you should be carrying.
I know most tire shops dont carry tubes bigger then 36"[ask me how i know].I tried running tsl sx's but here in the great basin we have a nasty littel shrub called greasewood, this stuff eats tires,iv evan seen it slice open heavy equipment tires.
I think it all boils down too how much do you want to spend to "enjoy your hobby".
For me money plays a big factor in my dicision to what to run on my rig, with the outrages prices of tires these days i try to make em last as long as i can.

Military tires (can, but not necessary) use tubes. They offer 40", 46", 48", and 53" tubes. The 40" would fit 38-42" and the 46" would fit 44"-48". 48" go with the 49's.

No prob.

But I know that 49" tires can be a little ungainly when mall crawling...yes...

"It's not the size that matters . . . it's how you use it!" Famous words uttered by every woman who's man has a small . . .

TRUCK!

What did you think I was going to say?
