Brake problems
When you first start to drive after the truck has been sitting for a couple of hours or more everything is fine for about 15-20 minutes then the problem occurs.
Although my e-brake light has not come on, the anti lock light has and my left rear brake heated up and then locked up. After letting truck set for about a half hour, I was able to move and make it home, about four miles, using the brakes as little as possible. I then removed real wheels and left rear drum. I did not find any obvious damage and that brake lining was in remarkably good shape for having at least 80,000 miles on it. I backed off the adjustment quite a lot, put everything back together and made a test drive. No overheat or lock up, but have a very spongy pedal.Pedal comes up with a couple of pumps, but braking is not right.I suspect the RABS module or sensor.Possibly the automatic adjuster.
I look forward to hearing from someone, who has solved this type of problem.
Thanks, Gwlexoh
