Well, i'm baffled think i need a couple more brains lieing around here. A couple months ago i was heading up to pick up my tractor about 2 am. well i was rolling along and all of a sudden my dang light went out, then after a few seconds they started blinking. Well i made it over to a parking spot and turned the switch off and then back on and all was well for the time (by the way the running lights [and cab lights] never went off). So i just figured it was the dimmer switch so i promptly replaced the dimmer switch when i got home. Well, a few months pass, all is well, i drive at night all the time and hadnt had any problums. Well tonight just as i was pulling in the garage, there they go again, flashing on and off, then off all the way and back to flashing. i hit the dims, and they worked fine, but the brights still flashed. By the was the running lights still never fliched. So, i dont know where i should start. thanks

A couple years ago I had the same trouble with my '73. I replaced the dimmer switch then the headlight switch and neither helped, so I started tracing wires. Near the back bumper the wiring goes through a hole in the rearmost crossmember, the wires were worn through and shorting out on the frame. So I repaired the wires and covered them with plastic wire loom cover - no problems since. Might want to keep it in mind...
