We have had the worst luck with trucks, right now we have a 1994 Dodge , that is a piece of junk. Before that we had a 1984 Chevy , It had 350,000 miles before it started to fall apart on us, but they don't have a full axel on the front end anymore. So now we are looking to go Ford, we are looking into a F250, or F350 we would prefer a Diesel. The problem we are having is that we don't want to have to call on every truck we find can any one tell us how to tell between the 6.0L and the 7.3L diesel, are there any key words to look for in advertising? Is the 7.3 listed as turbo? I would appreciate any help you can give me.
Early production 2003 had 'both' the 7.3 and the 6.0 available.. Ford ran both power plants to eliminate stock piles of 7.3's as leftovers.. After the early months of 03, they all have/use the 6.0.. Both the 7.3 and the 6.0 will be Turbo Diesel.. Very early 6.9/7.3's weren't turboed.. 99-up are intercooled turbo's, 7.3 and 6.0 alike..

Thanks for all the help. It looks like we might end up with a 7.3L, because we need to go a little older due to cost. We think the tranny is going out on the Dodge again!!! So we need to make a move soon. Hopefully we don't get a lemon this time. Thanks again to everyone who answered.
