[updated:LAST EDITED ON 06-Nov-02 AT 07:16 AM (EST)]I want to be able to lock the engine compartment on this 1978 f150. What would be the best hood lock? Right now it has no lock just the relese lever to open.
I would recomend a factory hood lock, which can be found in junkyards on on EBay, get everything from a complete donor truck if you can at the same time.
I use a hardened chain and lock I bought at Wally-world - it's got a rubber coating on it and does NOT rattle. Wouldn't want anybody stealing my pretty chrome valve-covers!!...or 770CFM carb....or wire looms...or ..or..or....
I have the stock option hood lock. I have seen people yank that black cable and the hood popped open so I also drilled a hole in the inner hood and put a hardened chain on it.
