86 F150 - Did you ever find your clips? I just finished my truck and have about 10-11 left over of the little thin ones that go on the wheel trim pieces.

Let me know.

I think the best solution to the cargo lamp gasket problem is to keep looking in salvage yards for a decent light/gasket combo. Lord knows there's a ton for F-series trucks out there.
I found a NOS Ford unit on ebay for like $15, plus ship.

Lee, Yes I was able to get the clips from the salvage yard. I was even able to buy extra moulding for the wheel wells in case I damage the originals when I reinstall them. Hang on to those clips though, you never know when you'll need them. Thanks again!

Glad to hear you found them. Just to let you know because I didn't, there are two sizes of those things so pay attention when you are putting them in. I found that there are some thin ones and some that are a littler fatter on the stem. If you try to use the plastic retainer that go in the holes to receive the stem, they only work on the fat stems and not the skinny ones.

I bought a bunch from the paint store that were metal and they worked on everything but they didn't have enough so I ordered the rest from the dealer but they turned out to be plastic. I had the whole truck together and on the last piece there were a few skinny stems that refused to work with the plastic retainers. I had to pull the piece back off and swap clips.

The metal ones seemed to work on everything no matter what size the stems were.

I finally finished my truck and took pictures but they are still in the camera. Hopefully I will get my gallery updated in the next week or so.

Good Luck,

Lee
