I met this girl and I think in many ways she thinks she is "superior" I guess. I get a feeling she has been with me to satisfy some issue. I get this feeling that she thinks she is faster, smarter, and stronger than me. But she will avoid if I ask the questions. She asked me how I could drive a manual? "Isn't is hard for you with all your phisical problems" she said. I said I know i'm looked at because of my phisical problem and she said at first but not now..

Hmmm, I think maturity levels vary greatly in the youth today. For one to remark about a persons handicap, is a sign of immaturity and lack of empathy. She may come around and be more civil after she gets more comfortable with you, and may just be nervous and doesnt know what to say. But I would be aware of the way she keeps on treating you though. Not all people have good attributes, and she could be one that in fact, has a low self esteem, and makes herself feel better by picking on other people's weaknesses. jmo good luck to you,

 

She may be smarter, but she is in no way faster, or stronger than me. Ya In a strange way I think I make her nervis but i'm not sure why as i'm laid back and she will not come out and tell me. This girl thing has been BAD in my past experience to and seems to get worse. She has got to realize that I am a very depressed person with low self confedence. I was getting a messauge and she would not "straddle" me for a good messauge she is in not way "fat" but it kept coming back that she thought she was going to hurt me if she was on top of me and I said I have "dropped" tranmissions on my chest and I didn't break. Do you really think I'm THAT frail. I said phicically appearances can decieve. I worked for 2 summers 10hr days hand loading 95lb bales of hay. It seems that every girl that I have gone out with has done it out of pitty and just I guess felt sorry for me I think I need to move.

I've noticed that about girls too.

Some older ones for me, 17ish, can be really immature, or they can be really sweet and down to earth. But some younger ones can be extremely mature too.

Then there are the ones that can be really immature when they goof off, but act their age when something serious comes around.

Shoot, even if i had one leg i could drive a stick, who need to clutch to shift, honestly. don't take any throttle to get my clutch out, dump the clutch then just float em' like i already do.

How about tell her to drive a stick. Then say it ain't so easy is it.

Don't worry, my GF thinks she can break me to when she gives me a message, i just tell her hey babe, i've moved telephone poles, had them crush my foot, then ran 2 miles the next day, your tiny 100lbs ain't gonna hurt any of my 255lbs., she got cockey then and stood up and walked on my back.

Sit down with her and talk to her about what you feel and see what she says, she might not even know she's making you feel like that.

I have been driving sticks with my right leg in a complete cast and my right arm in a cast also. Yes o great one The abilty to let a clutchout with a leg in a cast and shift without a clutch is a great thing especially when they say " Man I thought that that was an automatic, as I hop out of the truck "casted"

 

Dustin, I have no idea what your physical condition is; nor do I think it matters. I'm 35 and have been married for 12 years, so I cannot offer intelligent advice for dating. I can say however, that a relationship in which both partners do not consider themselves equals will not last. I don't mean physical equals - I'm talking about emotional, intellectual and spiritual equals. If you're not equals now, you will only grow apart faster. I have seen this many, many times in both married and dating couples.

Dustin, it's time for you to move on... you're way too young to put yourself through a relationship like this. If it means that much to her to be so difficult, she can do it alone. My take: She's doing this because she's not happy, but she doesn't know what is going to make her happy so she makes herself feel better by treating you badly... it's sort of like reassuring herself that she doesn't need you. Best to let go now and see what comes of it. If it's really "meant to be" she'll be back. Or maybe you'll see each other again later and realize you're better off friends, or she'll have at least gained a little maturity. P.S. Did you see on a scale that she weighed 130 lbs? Or is that just what she tells you? Because at her height, 130 is pretty skinny... like bones and skin. My sister has a friend who's 5'11" and she's 160 (and a size 2). Myself... I'm almost 170 and I'm about 5'8". We got to talking and we're pretty sure most people who say they're 120 lbs just made that up to sound normal. So maybe she's like, 145 and actually believes she'll hurt you. You never know...

 

Man i'd love too, hard enough finding ones for my self, lately she's been doing alot of practice for track and she's tired usually. doesn't stop me hanging out with her at her house though.
she really likes my truck, knows nothing about them, but she tries, i just tell her what nut(cough) to tighten or take out and she's been able to hanlde it. I've got her changing oil now, i'm so proud. The garage can be a fun place.

Hey i'm not so preoccupied with only me driving, in my truck i'll let her drive, sometimes, cause sitting in the middle is fun, with a granny 4spd, where granny and 3rd is at the dash, 2.4.R are right at the seat. makes for a cozy afternoon. she still wants to know how i can shift without the clutch, mabey one day i'll "teach" her,"Honey come sit in my lap and put your feet on top of mine, and watch how i work the pedals," That would get hairy though fast.

I too have a control problem. But control takes a back seat at certain times.

The only time i've ever threatened her was when she took my keys, before i taught her to drive a granny. She took off in 1st at like 3mph down her driveway, got to 2nd, but by the time she did i was already in the bed.

I told her she better stop before i rip you out and throw you in the bed, and i'll teach you how todrive a stick.(what, who said you can't drive from the bed) insert evil grin.

but we've never argued with out playing about it.
