Question What changed in 2004?

I have been looking at doing a lot of different mods to my truck to make it my own. It seems that most of the time, when I find something I like, it only fits the V10 until 2003. Was there some type of change that makes all of the after market parts from 2003 incompatible with those of 2004? If I buy something that's listed as being for 1999 to 2003 will it work on my 2004?

For examples, look at Superchips or the various cold air intake prodcuts.

I dont think anything did change, however the computers get little changes from time to time.It is probaly not updated ads you are referring to. The best thing to do is call the specific manufacturer for your application.Superchip tuner, headers and a good redesigned y-pipe [if you have to keep single exhaust] will yield good results.A BBK #1711 throttle body gives a small gain also. The tuner is great for tuning shift points and shift pressure.

Chips, intakes, etc probably just haven't been emissions certified past the '03 model year. I don't think anything really changed between '01 & '04.
