Before I put manual lock hubs on my '90 B2 as long as I backed my truck in reverse for 20-30 feet after I 'turned' the 4x4 off then I never had a problem with my front end binding or 'catching' like it was still in 4wd. Had to go to manual cause I broke the left front auto hub retaing nut and almost had the wheel come off! It chewed up the works pretty good. Haven't had a prob since and now I just use the 4x4 buttons inside for putting power to the t-case and lock my hubs before doing that and my B2 didn't have trouble off road before but the manual hubs give me piece of mind and and took the worry factor away completely. I still back my truck up after I unlock the hubs just to be on the safe side.
