Torque Converter ????
Hey All Can Anyone Tell Me What It Feels Like When The Torque Converter Locks Up? Does It Feel Like The Tranny Was Going To Shift Agear But Does'nt? Also Do The Rpms Drop Slightly And Then Resume?thanks

okay. assume we are driving along at 40 mph. (im using my 3.73 rearend as an instance)
i give it some pedal, becuase the engine is at idle and i need to accelerate. i can hear the turbo spooling some and see the RPM's rise SOME (maybe to 1500 rpm)within 2-3 seconds, the transmission seems like it has found a gear and you start accelerating. it is also locked during hard acceleration while not changing gears.
now when it disengages-
assume i am driving along up a slight hill at 40 mph. i need to slow down due to a red light ahead. i let off the pedal and the engine slows back to an idle. the TC unlocked from a gear and was disengaged becuase you did not need to transfer power to the wheels. really simple.
