Hey louie- thats what i wanna do...
Ive got a 99 w/ 7.5" open diff and 3.73 gears. I want 4.10's and LSD and would like to be able to do the work myself, if possible. I was kind of looking for a complete axle(then I'd get 8.8" rear end and 10" drums also) from a junk yard. Looks like it would cost around $500 that way and you still don't know what kind of condition it's in.
I like your idea- what did it cost you? did you do the install yourself, any special tools?

re-gearing a diff is best left up to professionals unless you know what you are doing and have the proper tools to check for backlash and the such. if things are not in spec you could ruin the diff and be out $$$.
