Hey guys - need to know what the timing is on a stock 289. The engine is out of a 1966 mustang. Got it installed in my 56 F100 and need to set the timing. Don't think it will make a difference on the timing but did change out the distributer to a MSD electronic - vacume advance.
I appreciate your help and read the forum's all the time but have never posted before. Lots of great knowledge on this site.
They call for 6 degrees BTDC for '66, but that's with the Thermactor system. '65 289 specs are 6 for manual tranny and 10 for auto.
I see you've been with us since the first of the year and only 3 posts so far? C'mon, you must have more questions than that! Or, feel free to jump right in with some advice of your own. -TD
