Has anyone thought of slapping one of those TORNADO deals in? After the soup bowl is out, of course. Or even the smaller version for the cleaner hose? Let me know your thoughts. Thx.

From what I have read all they do is cause more restriction in the air intake. The thing isn't powered and does not have any way of pushing air in. I suppose one could argue that it gets the air swirling and helps better distribute the air/fuel mixture on a carb'd gasser or TBI gasser, but that would be on no use on a diesel:lol
Enlarging the air intake snorkel will do a lot more for you. If you are handy with sheet metal tools it will even cost less. Check out my intake pic in the "Loss of performance at altitudes above 4500" thread.
Big exhaust + big intake = happy diesel motor.
Happy diesel motor = happy diesel owner.
It is all simple math.

The way to think about it is, run down the street. Then on the way back run with your hand over you mouth. Get the picture? Well I tried this, and half way back down the block I passed out .
even if they did work, they wouldn't help any on a diesel, as they are supposed to help on the atomizing of the fuel, not packing more air in. Diesels don't need any help with atomization, only getting more air in. Creating a "vortex" as they claim won't help a diesel, it will not make any more air inflow than it already has...
