what is a 1964 Galaxie with a 390 tri-power worth?
not running, I have not seen the car or anything. I kind of want it just for the motor and if the car is any good i might rebuild the car to be driveable. They have 3 other regular Galaxies and then this one. I am going to see if i can get this car for $500 - $600.
Is that to much for the car or is that a good deal?
Brandon, $500 or $600 would be a steal !!! I have seen as other's have I'am sure..Just the Tri-power units going for like $1500 on ebay!! If All the piece's are there??
If the engine is original to the car? It would be worth the investment to restore it !!
Yup, just the intake set up is worth the money. How bad the bodies are?? Probably used up hard? Not sure how things last in your area. Definitely worth parting out for that money.
I already have a 64 Galaxie convertible (the thunderbird Special) that is all original, it just mainly sits in the shop. I wish i could get my hands on another convertible and that try power.
A friend of mine has two nice galaxie's also. One 2dr, one wagon...just like me. His wagon is a complete stocker, guardsman blue, 289/auto. His 2 dr is pro-streeted, 514, wimbleton white. We plan on getting all four to the local cruise spot this summer. I think they will look pretty cool sitting all in a row.
I drove the blower car to work yesterday
The looks ya get are just priceless....
Nope........no dyno sheets. Don't want to know. The motor is just a throw-it-together-and-run-it type thing. It would be good for a couple really fast runs(big power), then it would show everyone what cheap original parts it was made of .
The motor(without blower) ran like a dead pig . I had it in the '69 F100 for a couple years...and it would barely bark the tires if you powershifted it for all it's worth at 5500 rpm . What a slug.
Now, with the slight addition of some boost.........it really runs great. I've never really tried using it at full potential for 1/4 mile. Maybe...maybe sometime before the snow flies I'll get it to the track and see what happens? Just don't want to scatter it trying to show off. It's together, it runs....I'll leave it be.
The motor was free, the blower was free.....kinda makes it easier!
Actually I rebuild the motor, rods, heads, crank, etc, so I had $1.5 million it (just a wisecrack towards my buddy at the machine I use)
The intake and drive set up I got AT cost from another buddy of mine who used his business for getting the stuff. The actually blower was Free though, from another friend who got two at an auction really cheap! (new, in the GMC box).
I had about $1700 in complete blower set up(which most kits for FE run $3500 ).
Does it seem like I have alot of Friends and Buddies.............LOL!!!
Darn toot'n. It's a GOOD THING!!

I need some move next door to you and hang around your buddies.
The only thing i seem to get from my buddies..... well i can think of one thing.
" HEY BRANDON THE BEER FRIDGE IS EMPTY" damn i need a chain on that thing.
HA HA HA. I keep only POP in the ol' Coke machine in my garage. Don't get too many freeloaders that way........LOL!!!
Networking is the way to get things. I do for them, they do for me.
Heck, my neighbor would STILL be looking at a box of bike parts if I didn't keep drag'n it over to my garage and welding on it! He's now riding his custom chopper and you never see him without a big grin on his face.
