what is the diff between 84 and 85
i was looking around at 300 inline parts and saw that the engine seal kit for an 84 is different than that of an 85. i have an 84 truck and am going to be putting an 85 motor in it, what do i need to know? it would seem to me it is something small and stupid, but i am curious, don't wanna hit any hang ups on the engine swap.

85 is right around the time that the fiber/aluminum timing gears started.
85's usually have TFI ignition and feedback carbs
the rocker arm style changed in 85 but i think the valve seals are the same
I would guess that the diference is in the timing gears.
