It works in conjunction with variable valve timing

would this cam phase make it feel like a miss going up hill some times but not all

Your check engine light should go on if you have a problem with the VCT (variable cam timing) system.

hey cullenkyla i know what you are talking about. what you are talking about is that when you are in overdrive and going up hill the engine starts pulling and you feel a slight slip or miss. i have that problem too but no solution to it yet. i also feel a roar when i am on the interstate and go to pass there is a roar that is NOT rhythmic, or consistent with the rest of the truck, but FORD can't fix any of my problems.

Just a though. My 05 definately has the cam phase issue. Sounds like a light diesel in the cab. Could this issue cause poor mileage and performance? I can't get over 15mph on the highway ( driving very conservatively). Also seems like mine is gutless.

Maybe unrelated, but just a though.
