Anyone use an after market dash panel to use in place of the stock one to mount up to date gauges? I see Haneline has one but I don't care for the engine turned look.
Look in my gallery. I put in a set of dolphin gauges with a machined insert. I am thinking of painting the face of the insert red with the recessed parts left alone.

Looks nice! I like the Haneline using a 3 gauge set but again not the machine turned. I haven't really got down under the dash to check out the mounting for the panel. Got to get my back in tune 1st! Is it an easy out??
My '49 F-47 (Canadian F-1) is a 302 H.O. with AOD & a stock, rebuilt 4.11 RE.

Dolphin are the ones I bought a year ago have not yet installed them though, I was planning on doing all the body work to the cab and paint then install as usuall other things got priority and I did not get to the that install. Can't wait to have a speedo, GAS guage, etc. I still have to go and take an ohm reading on the fuel take to know how much gas in tank. Ed ke6bnl
Eventually I'm planning on recessing the gauge cluster from a 1958 Pontiac into my dash, but that will have to wait for my metal working skills to get better. In the mean time I figured I would take my original gague cluster apart and remove the gauges and the face plate then fab my own faceplate and ad some aftermarket gauges to it.
tlb, WOW! that is an awesome truck!! you did a great job!
