Bed Repiar or convert to flatbed.
I had a load shift in my 99 F250 LB Diesel and it bent in the back of the bed abd the cab. It also smashed the window. AsI have some insurance money comming I was wondering if I could pull the bed off and bend it back into shape. The same with the cab. I was thinking of using my forkift or a come along on a cable connected to a long bar to flaten out the bow. This is what my insurance adjuster tole me. :-)
However I was thinking of replacing the bed with a flatbed.

What is the aproximate weight of the 8' bed of a F250? I found a new flatbed for $1,400 steel/wood base price but the weight is about 650 lbs. I was wondering how this compaired to the OEM bed weight.
