E4OD Question

I know the 4x4 engage, either manual or electric, is done by the transfer case. I just need to know if I can do a swap with the tranny that has the manual engage over to the truck that has the electric engage. Both trucks are the same year but different engines. TIA.

so you are wanting a manual tcase vs the electric correct? i would imagine you could swap it sure. you will need to remove the carpet and remove the floor panel to allow the shifter through. not sure if the tranny or computer would freak but i doubt it

My '96 EB 5.8 has the manual t-case with the EOD. It had auto hubs that didn't work when I bought it, so I installed some Warn manual hubs. I like the setup. Gives me lots of flexiblity and confidence.

I am assuming that you are swapping transmissions. The Transfer case has no bearing on the transmission so it wont matter if it is a manual shift or electronic shift t-case. The transmissions need to be the same type like E4OD for E4OD and etc. If the transmissions are not the same, then the crossmembers and the front and rear driveshafts need to be changed.
