I have a 1969 F-100 that i am looking into making my own customer interior. Like two captains chairs, center console, and things like that.
I was wondering if anyone has any pictures of the inside of there truck. I am starting from scratch. It is nighting in the inside of the truck. Although i have already redone my dash pad, and i think it looks great. I have the original seat out of the truck. It is black and has no rips, or split, or dry rotted. The seat looks brand new it is nothing wrong with it (except dusty).
Does anyone know what i can get seats out of?
I was thinking maybe something like a van or a truck could be fitted inside the cab. Something maybe like a newer model van or truck with the arm rests and everything.
Seems there has been alot of guys putting late model seats in theirs? Up to like '96 fits well? Get a 40/20/40 seat with console, power everything LOL!!
I have '77 Mustang II buckets in my '69. They are tall backs, and relatively comfortable, and they were FREE. I put power tracks off buddies '69 Pontiac(he was scrapping)on drivers seat. Not that I can actually adjust it very far...but it's there.
I put an 91 XLT seat in my 71 and it was a snap. Just took the base of the track from the 71 seat and bolted it up to the 91 seat to make it fit the orginal bolt holes in the floor. It fit like factory and is very, very comfy. It is a bench seat with the fold down arm rest. Now I always take the long way home!
Yeah there was some modifications. I had to cut off the crown vic mounts because they were at funny angles. Then I just welded on some hefty steel at 90degree angles. I had one leg that I have to chop at a 45degree or so angle. There was a lot of test fitting. I had all of the interior out. Just a bare cab. Also, I have no gas tank in the cab. That will go under the bed. These are power seats (forward/back, front up/down, back up/down, tilt back/forward, and air lumbar). I got them from a salvage yard for $50! I couldn't believe it! I am a 6' 180# person and I fit very nicely in them. I think a person up to 6'3" and 220# would be ok in them. Lots of leg room. It is a little short on head room at the moment because I have the seats adjusted all the way up for acess reasons. Good luck with your projects.
Shackleford, I'd really like to see a photo of your dash pad. How about posting a gallery? Sprcket, great lookin' trucks!
