I use my cell for trips and emergencies only.

I still can't see why that with all the tecnology available, why they can't get service that's decent to all areas of the country. They are quick to make phones with cameras and internet capability, but not improve the coverage of the whole network.

Well i'm was in the sticks, till the son of the farmer across the road sold out to a developer, Making my parents property value go down. He's building these little 180-200K houses, nothing wrong with the price range just the wrong area. Can't throw 180K houses in withg 300-450K houses, it's bad for value.

I now instead of calling it the sticks, it's"Suburbia" farms as far as the eye can see, then this subdivision being built in the middle of a field, 10mi from every where.

No the service is fine it's our phone itself is a piece of crap. Someone will call, mabey it will ring, mabey it won't... we find out because we hear our answering machine click on.

And we never know where my mom left the phone to go running after it when we hear the machine click on... she never remembers and i'm deaf, she won't run after it, i can't hear it so she just points to where it is.

If i do hear it ring, with my deafness, it sounds like it's coming from another room, till i get to that room and it's not there.

So by the time the phone gets answered i'm pretty pissed, WHY DID YOU HAVE TO CALL?

eww i hate developers, my land is worth about anywhere from 150k an acre to 50k and acrce, i own about 60acres and little more down the hill, and some ahole offered me 50 for all of it. my house is on the back of the property, so he to drive a quarter mile onto my land to get to my house.I didnt know you could get any car down one of our roads but he scraped his mercedes chassis on the ground. and its got a bullet hole in the trunk.

YUP!!! that's me. I hate when they tear up perfectly good land.

The 1/2 acre lots they're putting those boxes on are going for 60K!!!!, He used to have 2 acre ones but he cut them in 3rds to get more houses on. My parents bought 3 acres worth from him for 75, so they wouldn't build within sight of our house. . It was before he started doing the spec houses so we could get a bigger piece. But 3 extra acres... atleast i can sit out on my porch and not have to worry about seein one of those houses.

I'm not totally deaf, words just get muffled, i can hear sounds fine, but i can't make out words sometimes. Sometimes i don't know anyones talking to me.. And sometimes i'll hear what they said, clear as day and still say "What?" I think it's more i'm kinda deaf mixed with when i'm focused the world could end around me and i wouldn't stop what i'm doing to look. Geez that doesn't make sense.

ya dt i have that same problem, i guess your mind just filters it out. the only thing extensive that was done to my property was the higline the only thing bad about that is, there was several little gulleys going through there, soe when it flooded the water would flow through them. well one of them is washing out and making it hard to get the f150 across

I hear you. my neighbor has a pond close to the property line.. and it's small and doesn't take much to over flow into the field, plus the drainage from that subdivision it all ponds in that field and makes it a hell hole to get through in a tractor.

Ive taken my 85' out in 3' of that crap. Didn't get stuck but it wasn't fun getting the mud out of the floor boards either.

I guess i'm just so focused on things my mind refuses to hear what is going on around me, when i'm doing something.

But i do have a little hearing loss in my right ear.(too many loud pipes)

omg, theres this one area where about four wet weather springs goes into the fields, so every time we get an inche of rain, theres a good 2 inches of water through the field, which is awesome for mudding, the mude is about 4 inches thick but its slippery, cant even stand up., then the water goes on and meets up with a huge spring, and theres a swamp becuase of that, litteraly, its in the middle of the woods and you get waist deep in mud., the best mud you can find is the stuff that used to be on the bottom of an old slue, you so clay like ..

People are petitioning the FCC to keep from losing analog phone service in rural areas.

I know of one place I camp in Upstate NY, the GSM phones are useless, no cell tower nearby does GSM.

If they did away with analog service, everyone up there wouldn't have cell service anymore.

My GSM Nokia from T-mobile is not the greatest in the world either, my old analog phone worked better.
