I could tell a few stories, but I won't. With my luck the customers not only still alive but reading this thread.

But you're right- with outstanding customer service you don't have to be the lowest price to stay competitive.

As I've posted a few times, I work at Walgreens.. but I'm in a wealthy part of town. I get people all the time that are extremely rude to me and think I should bow down in front of them, but occasionally I do get some nice people in there. I'm always nice to everybody though, and I have probably 30 regulars that come in literally every night because of me.. customer service counts. I'm the customer service rep at my store, so basically if there's a problem I usually sort it out. I do wish there was some sort of mandate that required everyone to work in the public.

I used to work at ace hardware.

One time a guy walked in whistled at me and held up a 1/4 20 bolt.... i said wtf?
