My 79 f100 has a 600 holley vacuum secondary carb and a weiand action plus intake.
My question is,
does any one here run a carb spacer on their truck?
I have a 1 inch 4 hole spacer i would like to try.
Do carb spacers help or hurt torque?
I mostly pull with this truck and want as much bottom end as i can get.
i am running a edelbrock 600 cfm on my 390 with a spacer similar to what you have, 1 inch thick and 4 holes. i have been running with it for almost a year now and am pretty satisfied with it. i could feel a difference after i installed it. a little more power during exceleration and helped turn my 38s (when i had em on the truck) in the mud. it was a good cheap upgrade i would recomend it.

I run one on my 391 in one of my 74 F-100's. I use it to keep the heat out of the carb on hot South Texas summer days. The alumimun Edelbrock intake I have would cook the carb and the truck wouldn't idle. Can't say if it gained any torque or if it made any difference at all. With all the mods it's probably making somewhere around 500 HP and if it gained 5 HP-I'd never know it.
