Rough Idle
I have a '96 ranger 4x4 5sp 4.0l and when it idles it seems to be a bit rough. When i'm sitting at a stop light the truck is idleing around 800 rpm and i can feel the truck shaking slightly. Is it just me or is something wrong. i have done a tune up with plug, wires, pcv, air filter, oil and filter and fuel filter since i just recently bought the truck. Is this most likely the egr valve. Also how well will this ranger perform offroad. i don't plan to do a lot of serious stuff but will it handle some stuff. It has 3.27 gears and an open rear with skidplate and p235 75 r15 tires. I know the open rears and high low numerically gears dont help but will this setup do ok. Also i would like to stay with these smaller tires for gas mileage but get a more agressive tire such as some bfg at's or can i go slightly larger and still have ok power and mpg. I'm trying to stay practical with mpg while still being able to go offroad and minimize breakage. Thanks in advance
