Another A/C problem
99' Expy LXT 2WD 4.6L
I hope someone can help. When my A/C started to go out I noticed that there was a white mist coming out of the vents, immediately I thought that I was getting low on A/C gas. So I thought it couldn't be that hard so I buy 2 cans 134a and installed away, thing got super chilly but after about two weeks it started to blow out hot air so I thought humm, must be a leak, so I thought, they sell leak sealers at pep b, advanced a., etc... can't be that hard to seal it, so seal away I went. Make a long story short I'm tired of buy cans of gas and I still have the problem and now the low and the step next to the low button doesn't work, the high and the max work fine. Checked the pressure and it would range from low to average, some one please help.

Sounds like you have a leak on the evaporator. But I suggest you take it in to a mechanic that you or 1 that your friends recommend to check oout the A/C system. I am sure they will use a fluorescent leak detector to determine the source. Keep in mind these evaporators are made of plastic and aluminum so one of the seams may have separated which will require replacement.
