Gas Leak

Have a small leak on gas tank that I noticed today while changing the gear oil. Now I didn't really look earlier on how it mounts, but I've never dealt with a rear tank before. Are these just gonna drop out without a fuss or am I gonna have to raise the bed to really access this thing?

I had to change mine on my 76 years ago, but don't remember lifting the box to do it.

You need to disconnect the fuel pickup line and any vent/return lines on the top along with the gauge and ground wire. Then lossen the clamps for the fill/vent lines. There are two straps that actually mount the tank with bolts on both ends. Get all the gas out you can and use a floor jack and a piece of plywood to support it while taking it loose and lowering.
If it's leaking from the tank itself your probably gonna need a new one. People don't like to weld on them and if it has one hole it will probably have more in the future.
