I just purchased a new 05 F350 crew cab lariet with the powerstroke diesel. My truck did come with the "tow package" but I had to add the trailer hitch. I guess the tow package just meant the light wiring, and bracket for the light wiring.
The lights, and battery charge line work fine.
What I am trying to find out, is can I add Ford's factory brake controller to my truck? Does anyone know the approx cost?
As to the "why bother" question...The integrated trailer brake controller from Ford sure as hell looks better, built right into the dash, than the prodigy hanging off a metal bracket screwed onto the dash like a 70's cb radio...Have also heard that the ford tow command works as well as (some say better?) than the prodigy.

Nothing meant either way, just a thought....
Tekonsha developed the system for Ford...It should work pretty well I would think...
