Tail Gate Emblem 04 EXPI

I damaged the Ford emblem on the tailgate of my 04 Expi. I ordered and received a new one. Question is do you have to remove the inside panel ? It looks like it is held on by tape and 3 pins that go into some type of gromet or some thing similar to hold it in place. Any instruction on how to remove the old and install the new one whould be appriciated.

It is held on by double sided foam tape. On my '03 it was easily removed by sliding a monofilament line in at the attatchment point and it popped off. I did not have to to remove the inner panel.

Thanks for the reply. Did yours have 3 locating prongs on it? I will give it a try this afternoon.

Edit: It is on there were 3 pins to locate no problem a little lift off to remove the residue and it is Done
