88 Bronco XLT 302 AOD. When pushing parking brake down, brakes catch but when you let off the parking brake, the brake itself does not catch. No clicking sound heard. Sprayed everything with no results. Parking brake does not "stick" down. Can't find threads relating to this problem. Haynes manual no help. Anyone got a diagram or know where to get one? Is there some sort of spring that connects the brake release to the pedal? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I live on a hill and I need to take some of the stress off of the parking pin in tranny.

"I would walk and carry a Ford hubcap before I would drive a dodge. This is Ford country, on a quiet night you can hear a chevy rust."
Thanks for the input stuart1. I was in the process of removing the pedal assembly and thought "why not just WD40 the whole thing" and luckily the ratchet mechanism was just covered in dust and stuck. With a little work, everything works fine now. Thanks again.
