460 head question

460 head question
Anyone know if there is a 460 head cast with E6TE? I have a guy who has a set and this is the casting # he gave me, but I have never heard of that number before. Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

Yes this is a good casting # but not necessarily a good head E6TE the E being an 80's designation the 6 being roughly the year cast. these would probably be the 92cc combustion chamber and more than likely smog heads but if emission legality is a concern and the price is right buy them you can always make compression with pistons.

I had an '86 F-250 with a carbed engine with E6TE heads. They had air injection into the back of the head, but a soft plug took care of that when I rebuilt it and put it into my '66 F-100.
I do not know the volume of the heads, but they seem to work pretty well in my '66.
Currently I am running a new Edelbrock 1411 750 cfm on a Performer intake, dual exhaust but with stock manifolds. I haven't taken it out on the road yet since I am still ironing out steering column wiring issues.
