Im looking at buying a 99 f250 4x2 Supercab w/ the V10. It has the Banks Power Pak Intake. Can anyone give me an idea about the mileage? Good ,Bad or in between? Thanks!!
I've been trying to keep a little closer eye on my gas mileage since prices are jumping and have averaged about 11.8 without loads and 9.2 loaded. You'll see my setup in my sig line.
I have a little over 100K and had to replace a COP (coil pack) once a few thou ago..due to washing the engine. Also had the a/c clutch to go bad. I have replaced several rubber items, but the rubber they use is a cheap imitation at best.
The truck has 67k miles. One local owner. I think its a good deal. But the mileage was something that concerned me. I have a 01 f150 4x4 and I get about 13 mpg with it, but it wont pull the loads I need sometimes.
I wouldn't be concerned with the mileage at all. That is just broken in good for a Ford modular. As long as it's been well maintaned, I would not hesitate.
I get 11.5 average mixed BTW. I usually average about 13.5 on road trips without towing.

You have about 250K more miles to put on it if you treat her right.
Go for it...if you've checked it out good. Sounds like a sweet deal.
I have an '01 V10 4x4 SC SB, I recently got 13.5-14 MPG hot-rodding it on a trip into PA (from Long Island), about 250 miles on way. Back, loaded with 1000lbs in the bed, again, not taking it easy, same MPG.
Other than that, I have seen 16.5MPG as a personal best once, but that's with my right shoulder dislocated after crashing my bike, so I was taking it REALLY EASY on the gas.
I also run stock size 265/75r16's, and a 3.73 rear gear.
Mine is 2000 V10 it has 260000+ on it now. It will get about 14-16 on the highway and only about 8-12 around town. I live in the Phoenix Metro so lots of stop and go. I have the Hyper-Tec chip programmer and it is set of High Performace so I might get a little better back at stock.
Hey bandit I have a 01 V102wdauto xcab lwb running cooper 265/75r ATR's loaded city can get 12.5 pulling back on the right foot pressure hwy best ever 17.6 but it sure took a while to get there. so long story short every day in and out 11.5 city-13.5 hwy. love my lady because she has some radical power even stock
Between 11 & 12 mixed town/highway and a little over 14 for 100% highway trips at 65/70 mph. I have 3.73 axle and 33" tires and my odometer/speedometer was reprogrammed at the dealer for the larger tire size.
These engines get as good or better mileage than any other gas engine 3/4 or 1 ton pickup on the market and make more torque at lower rpm than most of those engines.
A V10 Superduty embarrases the GM 6.0L and Dodge 5.7L Hemi in a 2500 or 3500. It makes alot more torque/tow power at alot lower rpm than either of them and gets the same or better mileage.
