Putting a 302 together
I'm a FE guy but we're getting ready to put my son's 302 together, picking it up from the machine shop today. Any peculiarities I should know about?
Also, I had a brain fart, what's the metal sheet that fits between the engine and the auto tranny? Is it the flexplate?

It's usually called a Block Plate.
As for assembling the 302, if you are experienced in building engines it shouldn't offer you any difficulties, it's pretty straightforward. I may think of a couple of things later and add them, but I'll leave it at that for now...! -TD
