Leaky Master Cyl.
i have a 68 f-250 highboy that i've done a frame off resto. i changed the front end with a dana 44 hd from a 76 f-250 with power discs to get rid of the standard manual drum set up.the problem is that the mc is pushing fluid out from under the lid.i used metering valve & inline brake switch from a 71 f-250 2 wd with power discs. i've been fighting this problem for a couple of weeks and the only thing found is the top of the mc casting was rough so i smoothed it ,did'nt help much,also the stop light was holding down the brake pedal so there was no free play,fixed that and it seemed to help alot but i'm not sure it's stopped. thanks for any input

You could have a bad master cylinder. I have bought a reman and had to return it.
You might try bending the wire clip to make it tighter, or make aditional gasket from an inertube. my 2

thanks, drove truck up the road last night for the first time and when i got back master cyl was dripping . got a brand new one to try ,i may get it put on today.this really makes me mad because its eating the paint off of my inner fender & steering shaft .

I fought a leaky master cylinder for several weeks. It was a rebuilt unit from the parts store. I tried several new gaskets without any success. The m/c gasket surface was clean and smooth.
Turned out it was the cap. Tried a couple until I found one that didn't leak. Its dry as a bone now.
