crewcab conversion

I have recently purchased a 1978 F350 crewcab longbed 2wd w/ a 400M. The cab is the almost perfect but that rest isn't as good. I also have a 1978 F250 4x4 w/ a 400M. What i was thinking is i would cut the both the crewcab and the other truck in half just infront of the front cab mounts or about where the cowl is. Then once they are apart mate teh crewcab with the new four-wheel drive front-half. Would this be feasible. (I hope so becasue it would be a tank) The front axle in this donor truck is a 60 also a plus. If anyone has any suggestion, ideas or comments i would greatly appriciate them.

I would not cut and weld the frame back together it would be a good source for future failure. Just swap the 4 wd axle and suspension under the crew cab and make sure your rear axle has the same gear ratio. If in doubt put the rear axle from under the 78 under the crew cab as well. This would be a lot safer way to do it rather than cutting the two frames. every thing should mainly unbolt and you may have to do some welding mut not much.
