Trans xmember
Help...bought my son 90 regualar cab, 2.3, 5 spd. The trans xmemeber is see thru and have had no luck at the bone yards. Can anyone tell me what other years will fit or even later model that i can modify?

Look for one from a 83 - 92 2.3L they are all the same gerneration Ranger. Also make sure the doner truck has the same trans as yours. There are 2 different trans that went with the 2.3L and I don't know if the cross member is the same between the two.

I'm not sure if an earlier one will fit, maybe just back to '89. I have an '89 as well as an '83 and '84, and the earlier ones have a crossmember that bolts directly to the frame, while the '89's crossmember attaches to brackets on the frame with rubber bushings. I don't see why you still couldn't use an earlier one, however. I'm not sure if the mounting holes are in place, you may have to drill new ones. -TD
