Two tone stepside
Has anyone out ther seen a two tone 60 F 100 stepside. I want to break up some of that turquoise. (too much turquoise). I'm not quite sure what to do about the bed. If anyone has a picture (s) could you please send them.

60 Two Tone
I have a 60 f-100 shorty step side that is Two-Tone red on the bottom, white on the top it is original. I dont have a pick, but can explain it. The white is on the hood going straight back to the back of the cab and up. The front fenders are solid red, and so is the box. The top and portion of the back are also red. This is a pick I searched for(not mine). My box has no white on it(mines a step side).

Thanks for the input. I was thinking about two toning the cab, doors & hood like the flairside but painting the roof white also. The box; I was going to keep turquoise but make the fenders & steps white.
Would that look dumb?
I'm going to try and attach a crude picture of what I'm talking about. I did it by hand painting it in adobe photo.

Henry, the link does not work as entered. I'd love to see your project - can you set up your FTE gallery? Click on User CP (User Command Post), then on Edit Gallery, and play around to set up albums and photos. You can link to them directly in your posts and not have problems with connecting to external web sites hosting your photos.
Here's a link to a two-tone step-side I always liked. Not your year, but another idea of how to do it. The bed and running boards aren't done, I think I'd do the running boards the same as the fenders and the bed the same as the cab.

Earl, I love that color scheme to. I would definately put the darker color on the bottom and rear fenders. The lighter colored rear fenders would seem pretty girlish to me. I wonder how that would look in red and white. hmmmmmm.

I'm not sure, but I think Bob or one of you other Wisconsin guys posted a picture of a great late 40s/early 50s truck with a red and black two-tone scheme. I really thought it looked great. Anybody remember where that picture is?

SteV8 has a red over black 52(?) F3 and pictures of it are in his gallery. I have a red over black 50 F3 and no pictures.

Something tells me that a 57 through 60 would look funny painted that way, which was the original question. It is a good look for that year though. It has the running board to tie the front to the back. If we did it on our's it would look like body parts had been changed. We have what FORD calls a Flareside not a Chevy step side.

I certainly don't think your edited picture looks dumb, but it doesn't do anything for me when I glance at it either. I think the Colonel's suggestion of Mr4SpeedFord's truck is closer to what I was thinking, although he doesn't have the running boards to deal with.

I think the pic in your gallery looks like mismatched socks (there must be another pair like that around here somewhere). The white over on the cab and under on the bed just don't look right. The 2 tones look good with the wide bed, but it's gonna be trickier with the narrow. Can you paint the white straight back from the white line on the cab, along with the tops of the bed side rails? I dunno.
