Where can I find a replacement clevis pin which holds the brake pedal connection to the master cylinder? None of the usual suspects ie. Mac's, Dennis Carpenter, Sacramento Vintage Ford, NPD, carry them. Is there an alternative way to make this connection?
Welcome, Hey tell us about your truck what year and so forth. Depending on the year and series can't you find a replacement at the local auto parts place or do you have something unusual. If you can't find a pin could you measure it and weld up your own pin? Let us know what you got.
Hey dude - get that gallery set up with pictures. We get all edgy when we don't get our fix of pictures from forum members.
Don't know what year you have and what your brake setup is. I twisted the eye end off my 56 brake master cylinder rod when removing it (threads were rusted solid). If you check in Earl's World in my signature block below, there is a discussion of how I repaired it. It was a bit of work, but I got an exact fit when I was done.
I couldn't find an eye-bolt with the flat sides that the original had - even at McMaster-Carr or Tractor Supply. The ones I did find had the normal cast ID, not a bored ID so a cross-pin would ride nicely and not get ground up by the cast surface on the eye-bolt.
Hey, ACE and HomeDepot came through. They had a universal pin that I can cut to the desired length. How do you set up a gallery on this site? My "ride" is kind of garage bound at this time since the engine hasn't even run for 12 years, that's my next project.
